Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on this website, why they are used, how long they persist, and how you can control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. They allow the site to remember information — such as your privacy choice — between requests or visits. Similar technologies (for example values kept in your browser’s local storage) are treated the same way for the purposes of this policy.

Strictly necessary cookies are used on the basis of § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR — no consent is required for them. All other cookies, in particular analytics cookies, are stored and read only with your prior consent under § 25(1) TDDDG and Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies. Using Google Consent Mode v2, analytics storage is denied by default, so no analytics cookies are placed until you accept. Your decision is stored in the budakow_consent cookie and can be changed at any time through the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer.

4. Strictly necessary cookies

  • budakow_consent — first-party; stores your accept/reject choice so you are not asked on every visit; contains no tracking identifier; duration up to 180 days; type: HTTP cookie.

5. Analytics cookies (set only after you accept)

Provider: Google Ireland Limited. These are placed only if you consent to analytics.

  • _ga — distinguishes visitors; duration up to 2 years.

  • _ga_<container-id> — persists session state for Google Analytics 4; duration up to 2 years.

  • _gid — distinguishes visitors; duration up to 24 hours.

Google may set further cookies or identifiers as part of its service; see Google’s privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy. We use no advertising, retargeting or cross-site tracking cookies.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings — most browsers provide these controls under their privacy or security options. Please note that strictly necessary cookies may be required for the site to function correctly. To opt out of Google Analytics across websites, you may also install Google’s browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

We may update this policy if the cookies we use change. The version published here applies.
